We Will
“Business as usual will not be accepted by the people of Chicago” — Harold Washington.
We agree.
Section 8 Chicago is raising funds to ensure that the atmosphere at the Fire's opening night game, Saturday April 10th, will be something special.
We want to keep the momentum going from the tifo displays in the playoff games last season. We're asking you to donate whatever you can to fund a special tifo display for the home opener.
Section 8 Chicago, the Independent Supporters' Association for the Chicago Fire, is a registered Illinois not-for-profit. You can donate securely online here.
Why Support the Tifo Donation Drive?
Well, remember what the players thought of the playoff atmosphere?
“The fans were absolutely tremendous tonight. I was telling somebody earlier that they were out there already chanting when I was warming up. It gave me goosebumps just warming up because they were just fantastic.” — Jon Busch.

“I can’t remember seeing a crowd like that here. They were energetic from the start all the way through the end of the game, and all the players really fed off the energy they brought tonight.” — John Thorrington.
“It’s great. It’s so awesome when the atmosphere [is like that]. The fans were great, they inspired the guys to fight for each other.” — Brian McBride.

The above temporary displays were paid for by Section 8 Chicago, thanks to the generous donations from so many of you.
For the home opener, we want to create a reusable permanent banner, and the design we have is a perfect reflection of the commitment of the supporters to help make the Chicago Soccer Fire Soccer Club the envy of the league. If we can raise the funds for it, we think the planned display would inspire every player who walks out on the field for the first game of the season at home on April 10th (or whenever the home opener actually is in case of a work stoppage in MLS!).
We need your support to make it happen. Whatever you can give, from $1 to $1,000, will be much appreciated. Remember, Section 8 Chicago is a non-profit with a mission statement to “. . . to unite all Chicago Fire fans, to create a dominant in-stadium force unseen in any American team sport and to establish a home-field advantage whenever the Chicago Fire play.”
